my parents dont hurt me physically, but the things they say make me cut myself and they know it to and then they just get mad at me and dad says by law you cant leave the house until your 18, or they can come and turn you back into your family, is that true though?

The youngest you can be emancipated in Michigan is 16 and that is with parental consent and you have to prove that you can support yourself. Runaways are at high risk of turning into prostitutes to support themselves so you should not think about doing that. The problems you are having with cutting will continue when you leave home if you do not get professional help and that is the way you cope with hurt feelings and your feelings will be hurt over 100% more if you run away than they are now as life will be hard especially for someone that has trouble coping with the more unpleasant aspects living. Here are some web sites that you can look up information on for your state.

Your parents don't MAKE you cut yourself. You're still growing up. If you're really concerned, you could try emancipation. I don't know if it's offered in your state, but you'd be "divorcing" your parents. You'd have to prove that you're grown up enough, though... as in paying rent and working and such. You can survive a few more years... that's the fun of being a teen. "Move out now... while you still know everything!"

I had depression problems when I was in highschool, but that passed. I live with my fiance and my parents can still bug me at times, but I can always turn the phone off.

I think the best thing you can do is talk to a family member or friend you can trust. If you are young you will be at risk on the streets.Almost all young people have anger issues and conflicts with their parents. However don't ignore your feelings and be sure to seek some counselling to help you make informed choices.Good luck.

There is no legal age to runaway.....try to figure out what your parents are doing/saying to you that makes you feel this way. Then speak to them about it maturely.
I am a parent and if either of my children felt as you do i would want to know and really try to help.
Remember they love you and probably dont realise that your as upset as you are
give them a go
