I think 18 is the legal age to marry with out your parents consent, So I would assume you can be a runaway any time below that.IN Georgia you are a minor until age 18, but candrop out and go to work at 16. however you can not get a drivers liscense until you graduate from high school or get a GED equilent. you cannot take the test until you are 18. This is to disincourage kids dropping out early just to get a job for a car, dating ect.
I think MIchigan is alone the same lines.check this site for more information

Well, technically running away is something you do at any age. If they gave a specific age you could do it at that would just be called moving out.
You should tell someone at your school about this and tell them exactly what is going on. If you are afraid to go home then they may be able to immediately put you in a group or foster home for now and then go through court proceedings to decide what to do. I hope it works out for you. Dont run away tho cause it is dangerous and you will have no where to go.
Also try calling the Boys and Girls Club in your area and see what they can do.

get over yourself. you are not mature enough to leave home. talk with your parents. if talking dont work, make a video. send an email. express yourself, dont get emotional. state the facts to them. be honest with them. why do you hate them, do they abuse you physically or mentally, or do you hate them because you dont get your way. no one can make you hurt yourself unless they are standing there forcing you to do so, and if they are maybe you should press charges. life is full of hard times and people you dislike/hate, but as an adult you have to be mature and handle the situation. with your attitude of running away, youre not mature enough to be an adult

If what you say is true. Go to the police of Child Protective Services. You won't need to run away then.
If you run away, your the bad kid
If you report abuse your the victim

call social services, you could be placed in a foster home...temporary or permanent which ever you and others feel is best...I know it sounds horrible but it's not, if your situation is as bad as you say you'll be better off and turn into a mature adult.
