WARLORD OR GOD? Muslims believe this is the voice of God ---

“It is not for any PROPHET TO HAVE CAPTIVES UNTIL HE HATH MADE SLAUGHTER IN THE LAND.http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/008.qmt.html

“FIGHT (Jihad) THOSE WHO BELIEVE NOT IN ALLAH…until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves SUBDUED.” http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/009.qmt.html

“Cursed: wherever they are found they shall be seized and murdered, a HORRIBLE MURDERING.” http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/033.qmt.html#033.061

I will cast TERROR into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore STRIKE OFF THEIR HEADS AND STRIKE OFF EVERY FINGERTIP of them. http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/msa/quran/008.q...

"FIGHTING IS PRESCRIBED FOR YOU (muslims), and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not." http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/002.qmt.html#002.216

I have noticed that too often we get caught up in a war of polemics as regards the religious texts - who did what, said what, when, why, whether it was justified etc. etc. By doing so we are missing the woods for the trees.
For example Christianity as PRACTISED since its inception has undergone a sea change. Remember the tortures, inquisitions, dark ages etc. Have the basic texts and tenants in Chriatianity changed - No. However christians have simply changed the way they practice their faith. For example in France the general population, sick of the heavy taxes charged by both the state & the church & other factors overthrew the monarchy during the French revolution & introduced the principal of "Lacitie" or formal separation of church & state. Different Christian countries reached the same route through different paths. Christianity as practised now is on a much more personal level. The church recognises that it has no business poking into the private lives of its followers nor can it for example, call for killing someone of heresay. These developments are simply the "maturing" of the christian intellect over time.
Viewed from the perspective of history, muslims are still stuck up at the pre-revolution stage. A lot like pre-revolution christians, they do not have any real freedom & religion is the pivot around which their lives revolve. Also like christians then (and quite a few even now), they feel that their way is the one and only correct way. This, I feel, is the height of arrogance, how can anyone say - look, I am the best, all others are inferior before me.
I do hope they change otherwise, as history has shown - A country run on the basis of religious laws (any religion) can never really progress. There has not been a single successful country run on the basis of religion - then & now. The proof is out there- if they would only care to look.
Pl see my earlier question in this regard.

do u even know that about this incident u gave the verse speaks of.? the treaty of Hudaibiyah? what happened during the treaty? that the pagans of Makkah killed the jewish allies of Muhammed-pbuh? and that was the reason for trigger of the war? so which islam bashing site did u take this from?

oh wise one!! have u never come across such a verse in Quran?
AS FOR PEOPLE WHO TRY TO KILL OTHER INNOCENT PEOPLE AND GIVE IT THE NAME OF ALLAH, LIKE THOSE SUICIDE BOMBERS -- MAY BE THEY FORGOT TO READ THIS VERSE. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO THOSE WHO DO IT IN A POLITICAL MANNER TOO.

Al-Rahman | 78 verses | The Beneficient سورة الرحمن
Sura #55 | Makkah
33 O company of jinn and men, if ye have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them)! Ye will never penetrate them save with (Our) sanction.

just like those Islam bashers who read Quran and dont understand whats written in it. there is no difference between the two -- one blows up innocent people while the other blows up the whole religion.

JIhad is of 2 types, the first one
1. accd to prophet muhammed-pbuh --'the most holiest of wars is the conquest of thyself.'
2. when one is trying to opress u and ur family, as a last resort to self-defense, when no peace talks will work.

the 3rd and new type of Jihad was introduced by the Extremists and Media, to brainwash people, so that they fill up their pockets at the expense of someone elses life. and let me tell u that there is no '72 virgin concept' in Islam. these people who kill and spread false lies, will Inshaallah be the first ones to be thrown into the Hellfire.

Do you have a problem with those quotes? Or are you just trying to stir some anti-muslim sentiments?
What do you think about this:

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a US radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance.
The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a US resident, Jim, and posted on the Internet.
Dear Dr. Laura:
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can.
When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I
simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.22
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them.
1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord -- Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as is sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual cleanliness --Lev.15:19-24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.
4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
5. I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination -- Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean. May I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot.
Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them?
Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14) 14
I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.
Your devoted fan,
Jim
