I have one hard and fast rule: after three days, food is pitched. It may still be safe to eat, but I will not risk my health or that of my family by taking the chance.
Shrimp and seafood are particularly prone to going bad in a short time. I'd pitch those bad boys so fast, their little shrimp heads'd swim. If they still have little shrimp heads, that is. :-)

To Frank S: This is precisely why fresh seafood needs to be frozen immediately. The consumer is ALWAYS SMART to assume that it has already been sitting on the shelf for a number of days in a semi-frozen environment.

yes, but don't let them get much older. no more than a week and a half. and if you believe the first person's answer or doubt me; call the fish market at the grocery store. you think they change all the seafood in the fish market every three days? give me a break.

Like my mother used to say. "When in Doubt, Throw it Out"!
I wouldn't eat 6 day old shrimp, no way. Stinksville!

If it was uncooked when you got it and u froze it then it should be fine to boil. Otherwise, I wouldn't dare chance it.
