They do work. Not for a really long time, but my teeth were definintly whiter after just a few treatments. I had the crest white strips premium.
However, i didn't finish the whole course of treatment. Those strips made my teeth really really sore, and sensitive. Not while the strips were on, but several hours later my teeth were really achy.

Crest white strips are okay for your teeth especially if your under 18. The over the counter bleach just takes longer than the chairside bleaching; which is costly and not recommended for under 18. It can make your teeth sensitive...especially if you have abfractions at the gumline.

I used them about 3 years ago and they worked pretty well for me. They didn't make my teeth super white, but the difference was very noticeable (It was worth the investment).
There was a catch for me - Ever since, my teeth became extrmemely sensitive, and they still are today.
It's time for me to do it again, but I haven't found a brand that is recommended for sensitive teeth.

They work a little, depending on the discoloration of your teeth. They work best on yellowed teeth. You may get a shade to three lighter. Greyed teeth... not so much.
Your best bet is dentist whitening.

They work, but they somehow make it a lot easy to stain your teeth thereafter. So avoid dark colored drinks, and make sure you use a enamel care toothpaste.
