I would take 2 weeks, and stay 3 days or so on each of the main islands--Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii. Each one has something different to see. And take some time to RELAX!

If you have 7 days? Really want to see as much of Hawaii as possible. Then do a cruise.
NCL operates 3 ships that cruise to the 4 main Islands. Allowing time in port at each island to see a bit of it.
Cost of Cruise is not much more than spending a week at a nice hotel or resort.
And cruise gives you all meals, plus much more.

I have live in Hawaii 31 years. Am in the Travel industry here, and still have not seen all of Hawaii.

Stay at LEAST a week. Visiting TWO islands while there is highly recommended. I went this April and it's awesome!! There are so many things to do I recommend 11/2 to 2 weeks. Your paying dearly for airline tickets, might as well stay long enough to make it worth it!

Minimum a week, maximum, 'til the money runs out. I know a guy that went there on vacation, ran out of money, sold his return flight ticket, got a job, and is still there after 15 years.

If this is your first time, a year is not even enough. I guess it depends on your budget. If you have a lot of money to spare and a lot of vacation time saved up, then max it out. Have fun.

3 years should be a good start. Have a fun holiday.

i went for 3 weeks on my honeymoon and it was not enough-but, since i'm sure you have time and money constraints, decide how many islands you want to do. 1 week minimum i think. anything shorter and it's not really worth your time

One week and a max of two. If you're very wealthy, stay as long as you want, but it get's pricey otherwise.

Have a blast!

Never enough. Longest I've been is 10 days and don't want to come home.
