His family is ready to disown him because of me being American and the fighting between him and his family is taking a toll on me, I mean I feel at fault for it all. He says he knows what he's doing and we love each other UNCONDITIONALLY but I still have this feeling inside me like I am making him lose his family? How would you feel?

I gave up alcohol and all of my friends and have never been happier, so this is not a problem for me. But sometimes it is nice to have a girlfriend to call or go out to dinner with ya know? Shouldnt there be a compromise? I know it is his culture, but I also changed EVERYTHING about me. He has changed a lot to.. But we should meet half way here correct??

Maybe I worded it wrong.. Let me try some more.. It is not a question of me doubting our love and what not, Its jsut I am thinking of his future, he will have no family. I dont want to be the reason for this, Its a huge burden on me. But I love him so much!!

not on love...love is too big. even if you know the bf-gf whatever kinda stuff isn't going for you now there is still the love of children and animals and humanity and such.....you know what I'm sayin?
culture differences?
umm maybe its not really love for you yet?
or perhaps you should talk with her dad in a very respectful way.
OH. its like that is it? Wow. Now I see a bit more clearly.
maybe you should talk with his parents?
still though if you would say good-bye to him it would not be that you were turning your back on love but that you care and you are trying to understand the best thing to do. All the best for you and him.

I have. We were terrible together. I have 2 kids to raise and he had a daughter. I made the choice to walk away because we were fighting and so in love we were crazy! We lasted 2 years before I called it quits. Hardest thing I have ever done. I am better now, and have finished school and have a new guy. But....I still love and miss him and I know he feels the same way.

I have lost hope a lot of times... i really have never been the girlfriend... just the friend... it is really depressing if you have been used so many times... you start giving up easily... but i try .. even though i am hurt so many times i still get up and try again... someday i will get a guy I want... so i will never give up until i have found who i love... so don't give up if you fall cause everyone falls... but if you keep trying one day you will stop falling or when you fall someone is going to catch you... so don't give up...

When you get used and incredibly hurt, people can only take so much and then they just shut off from the world, as far as love goes, I have turned my back on love a few years ago. To me, it is not worth it. Sorry.

I honestly would not ever turn my back on love. I have been throuh things myself with the guy I am with but I feel if you truly love the person then you should try and stick it out. He or she may make you want to give up but I wouldn't.

Enough is enough when it no longer feels like love but WORK. Yes, there comes a time when love just isn't enough anymore and you have to walk away.

If you have to ask the question, you've had enough. The more life experience I gain, the more I know you shouldn't settle for someone who doesn't absolutely adore you. When they adore you, they don't repeatedly subject you to pain.

enough for me is when i'm at the point where I can't take the hurt anymore whether it's physical, emotional, or mental. Your whole perspective changed about that person. THEN that's ENOUGH..

If he ever hit me it would be enough. If he wanted to split it would be enough. If he verbally abused me it would be enough. If he cheated on me more than once it would be enough (i would watch him closely if he did it once and life would be rough for him for a while). Enough is enough when you just can't take it anymore.

enough, haven't been there, I have had love but it was perfect, just right like goldilocks, Love should be about laughing, dancing, singing, showering, eating, sleeping, and if you can do a little of all that then it will be more then enough.
