The answer is NO.

Knowledge of how to operate armored vehicles and fixed wing aviation assets are skill sets that are unique and require intensive specialized training. You're also asking for your fantasy group to be dive qualified, which restricts it even further. The answer is a NO.

People (especially civilians, whether they spend time playing ridiculous computer games or no) who have no knowledge of the special operations community besides what they absorb through fiction are the first ones to dream up that "Special Forces" or "Commandos" (no distinction made between the two) can do absolutely everything and anything.

Some people play too many computer games and watch too much Chuck Norris. Also for those of you who put down idiot answers, America is not the ONLY country in the world that fields special operations units. The Questiiner didn't ask HOW to join such a unit either.

If the question was read right the first time, maybe some of you idiots would think twice about putting down what you did.

Then again, probably not.

Well...it depends. In case of a full flegded war...they may get to work with the infantry to cause severe damage to the enemy. They may not get to drive tanks...because it takes atleast 3 people to drive a tank and u have to be really good at it....and most of the special forces in the world are trained to dive....and some of very special forces have basic knowledge of flying but they don't get to use it unless...they are in very bad situation with no backup or rescue....then if they get a chance to fly...yes...they would fly.

Yes...Force Simba in Zimbabwe!

They all dive off the coastline of Zimbabwe daily I believe & they are all trained fast jet pilots.

They also know how to handle ex-Soviet TU tanks.

They also act as infantry as the TUs are rubbish & break down all the time. That or run out of fuel.

"Its a mans life in Zimbabwes Special Forces"

Marine Force Recon. is dive trained freefall trained, most of them are sniper trained and demo trained, the only way you will fly is by being flown. You can potentially get guaranteed Force Recon if you enlist as a reservist, with Force Recon as your guaranteed MOS. You will also cross train with all other service SF and know that Marine Force recon is the best.

The U.S. Special Forces train personnel who come from the type of jobs you listed. You do not just join Special forces straight from the civilian world, and they have a prequalification selection process before you can become a member of the elite team.

Umm they are special forces, the might be on tanks, they might be carried out on planes but they don't drive them. Remember the special forces doesn't mean they have to be pilots, they can be anything, brave the crziest individuals. But teh special forces are trained to prolly deal wth every circumstance/sitation.

There really isn't any place in Special Forces for tanks. And they don't need to fly, they have other people for that.

Maybe the Delta Force. Non-Military there are groups of mercenaries with millions/billions who could do this.
