Did you remove the foil?
Is it an artificial cork? You remove them with a corkscrew the same way that you remove the natural corks.
The only other choice is twist off.

Either its a screw top, or there is wax on top of the cork. If its wax, just screw through the wax into the cork and open as normal from there.
