I'm undecided, simply because we do seem to have problems with current notions of a / any deity and religions.

My one argument for is that it is "plausible" for a vast consciousness to have developed out of the 13 billion years old universe -- of course over the much less time required by the human development on earth.

Only makes sense that there would be more thinking than mindless people here...
After all it takes thought to determine for oneself that the god idea is B.S. but only mindless adherence to what mommy and daddy programmed to be a believer.
And not to forget, that atheism is NOT a belief. It is an intellectual conclusion that requires neither belief nor faith! Just an open mind.

I majored in Religion in a Methodist college and spent one year in Methodist seminary. I then divorced the Methodists, refused to return the Baptists' calls, fled abuse from the Catholics, engaged in heavy petting with the Episcopalians & Unitarians, but fell in love with the Buddhists because with them, God is unnecessary in following a spiritual path.

I am an atheist. However, I believe in the coexistence and tolerance of all religions for each other.

Prepare to be attacked by the always kind and peaceful religious people for asking a question. I seem to get attacked every time I ask a religious question, even if I ask it in a totally inoffensive way.

sorry bout my fellow brethren, but you must understand there are fakes and phonies everywhere people who have a basic understanding of who god is but they dont know him so they dont act like him either. the real christians walk in love and love you whether you beleave or not. so there are no hard feelings cause you dont beleave we just pray for you guys and do our best to be an example and not force you to beleave.
