No family. I have learned to enjoy my aloneness. Birthdays-I go to a resturant. Christmas-I always get what I want.
I can go and do what I want when I want.
Learn to enjoy yourself

I have some family but they are all out of state so I have little or no contact with them. What do I do on my birthday? Last year I went deep sea fishing and caught a bunch of fish. This year I am going on a 3 day hike up in the mountains. I don't do Christmas because it has become a huge commercial thing. I celebrate it still but I generally stay home. If a friend invites me over to celebrate and do dinner I may go. I have learned to enjoy my time with my friends. Enjoy time alone. I have always been very comfortable being alone. I look at it this way....When I am alone I have control of the remote.....and that makes it Okaaaaay!! lol

Well I have a family I just don't claim them they are very different then myself.. I have a wonderful grandmothe that has raised me since I was seven weeks old. I love here dearly.. I am the only child so its always been me and here. Although I wish I had an older sister.. I am 23 years old and I am still longing for that, especially a true friendship...I don't know how to cope, but surround yourself with friends and if you find true ones spend time with thier families...

I have family...but they are on the other side of the country.
I cope with the holidays ...by realizing they dont matter to me. What makes others happy doesn't necessarily have to make me happy. Instead, I plan on volunteering at some local shelters, and with the local "giving tree" during the holidays. It makes me feel better to know that I'm helping others.
Good Luck.

I have a friend who is like you. She has no biological family that she can be with. She also feels alone in the world. For Holidays and birthdays she makes an effort to make plans with friends. We invite her a lot. I guess my best advice is to make good friends and they can become your family. Friends do not have to be your age. She is 24 and I am 48. I love her like a daughter.

Yeah and in fact you wouldn't believe the population. We are not alone.
I have many friends so I was never alone on holidays and on my birthday. I sometimes, divide the time to be with one friend to another.
So what do you during these times? Friends, co-workers may be would love to have you on one of these occasions.

You aren't the only one. I got tired of my family dragging me down years ago. You can do whatever you feel like doing. The best Christmas I've ever had was years ago. Spent it out on Ft. Lauderdale beach.

find some people with the same interests as you. try your local newspaper for groups and gatherings..maybe your neighbors are pretty nice. I've often wondered this because sometimes I wish I had no relatives!! Just kidding..it's just sometimes they drive me up a wall. anyhoo, good luck to ya.

I no longer have any family. I spend holidays with my best friends family and I spend my b-day alone most every year.
