the only thing that I have found them good for is for when you are leaving the house. its hard to run to the bathroom if your in a vehicle or at the other end of the store. I bought a rubber sheet and big girl underpants, and just did the wash, it was alot easier to get them into a routine of nightime dryness once I got cute sheets and a comforter set, and I showed them to my daughter and told her once she was able to stay relatively dry at night, then they would be hers.

I agree with you. I have two kids, one is 5 and the other is 2. I potty trained the 5 year old by just taking off her diaper completely and letting her walk around in underwear or just pants. And she potty trained pretty quickly and easily. I will probably do the same with the 2 year old soon now. With the pull ups they still know that they are wearing a diaper so it doesnt make a difference to them if they go in it or not. But with just pants they can feel that they wet themselves and it makes them want to go on the potty.

Exactly! Pull-ups are suppose to be easier for the child to remove so they can use the potty. If the child is still going in the pull-ups or the diaper, it doesn't make any difference.
Regardless of what my daughter is wearing (pull-ups or diaper) she will go in either one.
If she is wearing a diaper and I tell her to use the potty she can just as easily remove it. I don't see what good are pull-ups either.

I tried the pull-ups and I think it is a waste of money. My child can take off her diaper easier than pulling down a pull-up. I think she does better about going to the potty with a diaper. She would pee in the pull-up just to see the pictures disappear so they didn't help my child at all.

A friend of mine said her daughter NEVER had diaper rash until she tried pull-ups. They have some out that turn cool as soon as they wet in them, but kids lack the muscle control to stop their urine, so not really sure how much good they would do. They also have the ones that the design fades when they pee in them, still, what good are they if they have already peed in them?

For me, mine was in diapers, then underwear at home, used the potty but to go out I put a pull-up on her. Until SHE told me no more. So now she only wears them at night and panties at all other times. Yes the laundry goes up but she learned. She is just 3.

Diapers are just as easy I agree. If your just sticking around home Training pants are wonderfull. The child definately knows why he wants to go potty because they get very wet and you just wash them out for the next go round! Much cheaper than pull-ups.

im a child care worker and i hate pull ups. really i do. i feel that u should go straight to underware. that way if they do have an accident its uncomfortable. to stop it from being uncomfortable they need to practice remembering going to the toilet.
whats the need if its jus in a pull up. its jus the same as a nappy.
also they are VERY hard to pull down so if they do remember they are going to get frustrated by not being able to get them down in time.
short answer. forget usin pull ups.

hey hun....they are pretty much disposable underware that kids can use to help them feel like a big kid....they were a life saver for me when i was potty training my little girl cause you never knew when you would be standing in a long line in the store to hit the bathroom( boy did i used to glare at that cleaning board and cart blocking the bathroom door! lol) or get caught in traffic and they utter those words...I GOTTA POTTY! lol...and to save money i never used them around the house (accept bed time) cause the potty is right there and i found they were great to use at bed time because when kids are potty training they don't always wake up and go to the bathroom at night....there for we had clean sheets in the morning! :)....hope this helps ya....love daisy

The pull-ups are for the semi potty trained kids.To train them, you have to take them to the potty very often. It is very convenient to pull dawn and up if they are wearing a pull ups.Another advantage is if they forget to tell you, most of the time when they are playing.they have a protection for the accident.
