Uhmm.
If it was a Turbo, and he was trying to race you, he world literaly wipe your face against the pavement...
1998 Ford Mustang GT
*note this is the 4.6L, faster out of the box but not nearly the potential of the 5.0 I know, but you said you are stock so this is optamistic.
1320 ft (1/4 mile)15.00 s @ 93.7 mph
Theoretical Top Speed 142 mph
0-100 mph17.10 s
2002 Porsche 911 Targa
*note this is the slowest 911, NOT TURBO, nor an S model.
1320 ft (1/4 mile)13.52 s @ 105.59 mph
Theoretical Top Speed 171 mph
0-100 mph11.94 s
And you want me to belive you spanked a 911 TURBO?
The slowest 911 does 0-100 over 5 full seconds faster than a your mustang.
the Porsche GT2 does the 0-100 mph in WELL under 10 seconds, a supercharged streetable 5.0 would be just *starting* to compete with the new 911 Turbo.
You are what ricers are to imports, but to domestics.
And I say all of this with no bias to the Ford, infact, a SN95 Cobra with a GT25 dual BB turbo is the #1 fastest car I've driven, I love it, but you are full of it man, get real.

I think you were reading k.p.h., not m.p.h. There is no way you got a stock '95 Mustang GT to 185. A C6 Corvette with about 160 more horsepower hits about 186. You also don't mention what year the 911 was. Again, a late model Turbo could possibly hit 180 (not to mention utterly destroy an SN-95 'Stang), but it's possible you could pull on an older model.
Just to answer Weekend Warrior's question, the 5.0 HO did carry over to the SN-95 Mustangs, the modular 4.6L showed up in '96 or '97.

Come on people! Can you not tell he was just baiting with you all:) It's called a joke:)
On a side note I think the sn95 mustangs were the best looking in the recent years and they had a lots of potential (better, solid car with better brakes and a very moddable 5.0 liter motor).
To the "other" dreamer that wants to race the mustang in a maxima...well you would lose.
As the old saying....people are comparing apples to oranges again. Two very different cars in two different car classes.
And to Atacataco...torque is what wins races..not the quoted hp figure from the factory(s). You can mod a cobra, vette, ls-1, whatever...it comes down to who has the most money and the most driver skill that wins the race.

You are making yourself and all other mustang owners look very bad. First off, bone stock, the top speed of a 95 GT is nowhere NEAR 185mph. Second, the Porsche 911 you raced wasn't paying attention to you. Third, stop trying to be cool and show off on the internet. Fourth, shut the F*** up!

You forgot mention the part about waking up and realizing it was only a dream. What year was the guys Porsche '56? There's no way a stock '95 Mustang can beat a 911. And didn't they stop making 5.0s in '93?

Doubtful you spanked a Porsche doing 185 in a stock 95 GT.. unless you got Saleen mods on your ride.... Im on my 4th Stang ( Kenny Bell supercharged 03 GT ) and have no end of fun spanking the BMW's and Camaro's ( the ones that are left that is... ) My all time favorite is embarrassing the Honda / Toyota crowd on the interstate... when the 11 pounds of boost kicks in... BYE BYE!!!
Chetco's Evil Twin ~~~~ bring that freeway flyer POS Maxima up here anytime... :)

in case you don't be attentive to a thank you to glide, steer away from the GT500. by using fact it has a load of capability, whilst mixed with the stone-age rear suspension, the only way tochronic the GT500 is sideways. The 911 has much less horsepower by using fact it needs little horsepower to go its drastically much less weight. yet in a nutshell sure, all you're genuinely identifying to purchase is a form call. i've got by no potential enjoyed 911s or GT500s to tell you the actuality. for with reference to the comparable cost as a 911, get an AMG Mercedes-Benz. A used SL55 or SL65 AMG will final longer than the two certainly one of them, out run the two certainly one of them, and have extra equipment and capability than the two certainly one of them. The SL55 has a 5.5L V8 and the SL65 has a 6.5L V12 twin-speedier. With the digital velocity limiter got rid of, the SL65 can attain appropriate speeds over 200mph.

Stop it...JUST STOP IT... this is not possible because I just looked on the PORSCHE answers and there's a guy who is saying he pee'd his pants after shuttin' down a 5.0 who was adamant on racing him he let him get a quarter mile lead and then the Porsche blew past him so fast the 5.0 didn't see him.. You just thought you won.....LOL
OK little pony boy come by my place and we;ll hook up my 71 Pantera against ya......Ya that's what I though...you don't know what a pantera is...Go learn the car before you start Bs'n
