I recently paid my respects to my cousins gravesite and ther ewas a blue bowl of water on top of his gravesite, what would that symbolize?

maybe someone left his favorite food in there and the birds ate it...... I thought about leaving a monster burger at my dads grave... Ive left joints and beer at friends graves..... don't sweat it.
