I think it's what ever your kid likes better. I tried the potty chair first, she never used it. She loved the potty ring but she only used it for about 2 wks. But my Grandma had gotten her a potty chair awhile ago and she still wants to use it every time we go there. Good luck!!!

That is a great question My son is 17 months old and I just started potty him and he don't like it. I am glad that I got the 3 in 1 potty chair it goes on the toilet or just as a regular potty. so tomorrow I am going to try him on the big potty and see if he likes it better.

I had both. My oldest son liked the potty chair- probably bc when he was training he slipped into the toilet while trying to go potty so he was afraid of the toilet. My daughter on the other hand liked the potty seat. She liked getting on the step stool ( invest in one they can also double as a booster seat on a chair at the table) and sitting on the potty like mommy and daddy. We have a 2 yr old little boy right now and we are waiting to see which one he'll pick. I think though, that he'll be picking the potty seat since he likes to put it on his head. LOL Plenty of praises though. Even if she doesn't make it. Something like " That was a Great try." Maybe even panties? My daughter loved wearing big girl panties. Have fun! I know we will lol .

Go for the potty chair. It's a lot easier for them to reach the ground than with the potty ring.

The best thing is to use the regular potty. The potty chair or the fitting potty ring, once they get used to those, they're not gonna like anything else.you will be stock getting them trained again so they can use the outside potties. So hold them on the big potty,if you will.by the age of three, they're not gonna need your help.

My little one prefered the ring that fits onto the big potty. We got her a little step stool so that she could do it herself. She didn't want anything to do with a potty chair because she wanted to be a "big girl."

I have 3 kids, 2 girls 1 boy and the potty chair worked best for us. They like being special and having their own potty. You can graduate to the ring when your child is bigger and taller...Best of Luck...

My daughter liked using the big potty wth a ring and a stool, they are more comfy if there feet are touching something, also give them a book about using the potty it will get them excited to do what they are reading about

i would start out with the potty chair first for awhile until she got used of going on her own. she just might become afraid of falling in on the big potty & then you will have a heck of a time of training her all together. [good luck]
