how do you know why you are? thats kind of a big question.....ask God and dig deep inside.
How do you know who you are? Judge your intentions for yourself. You can't listen to what all ppl are saying. if you respect them thats one thing. but ppl don't always understand why you do what you do therefor they can't give fair judgement. so I say judge for yourself....listen to your conscious......

You're a person. You'd probably also be better off if you quit paying attention to people who are inclined to say weird things about you.
If you're really concerned about who you are, having a bout of existential angst, go do some things. Go to a third world country and show people how to build solar ovens. Join the peace corps. Go to the library, check out a different book from each section, and read it just to see what it's like. Take a walk someplace new. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Visit a model railroading show or a gun show. Go to your local city counsel meeting and see what the people there jaw about.
Go out into the world and have some new experiences. After you've had them, think about how they made you feel, whether you liked them, and what you want to do next. Then you may have a better sense of who you are.
Or you could do like me and simply have a batch of kids. Then you'll be too exhausted to wonder who you are.

Who do you belive you are? Find your own self. It may take awhile but you are the only one who can truly say what you are.
