Everyone has an accent!
It's just that we solely notice the accents that are different from ours!
So yeah, people from the uk think Americans have accents, just like Americans think they're the ones w/ an accent...

Yes we can definitely tell an American by his accent, and most would be able to tell a Southern accent, as for distinguishing other regions I am not so sure. I can tell a Brooklyn accent, and a New England, but more than that I would be struggling.
But you wouldn't find a Brit saying to an American 'Wow what a great accent you have'

People in the US think people from the UK have accents because they don't talk the way the they're used to hearing people talk. It's not like people in the UK come to America and think, "Boy, we brits sure do talk funny." Besides, there are different accents all over america. Ever been to the deep south? Or brooklyn? Or the midwest? Or california? Or new england? Or the mid-Atlantic?

Heck, yes! (and keep in mind that some Americans think other Americans have accents like New Yorkers and Texans)
Some people like American accents, some don't I remember being in Aberdeen, Scotland one time and having all kinds of folks tell me what a "cute" accent I had when I was just thinking how great they sounded.

Yes because to them they dont have an accent beacause they are used to what they hear, so if they hear a different person from a differnet country, to them thats an accent
