It is not christianity in the same since that neither are Jehovah Witnesses, Mormans, and others.

When you have a religious belief that has certain set principles like the death and resurection of Jesus, if you take out those principles you end up with a different religion all together.

In the higher areas of Scientology, there is a very in depth belief system.

So as far as legitimate, you have to go by what can be proven and what cannot be. You can take the life of Jesus and find verifiable proof of historic evidence that shows Jesus did exist. There are more writtings from that time period (outside the bible) than many ancient figures we know of.
Scientology does not go back that far into history and you would have to believe its actual claims to say it is legitimate.
There are many who follow Scientology and believe its claims. So to them it is.

When it comes down to any belief system, those that follow it will claim it is legitimate and everyone else will discredit it regardless of if there is proof or not. So you could take one religion with proof and one without and people will still see them the same way if they don't believe in them.

Scientology is beautiful. People criticize scientologists without having a clue about what they are talking about.
Yes, there are crazy people like Tom Cruise who give scientologists a bad name. That doesn't mean all scientologists are crazy. Scientology is a very logical, smart, scientific, and simple "religion" which does NOT interfere with your primary religion.

Get your facts straight, everyone and actually do some research before you act like smartassses and make false accusations and statements about something or someone.

Scientology calls upon the cosmic strength we have from within because of God.

Christianity calls upon the strength of the living God indwelling every believer.

For more on Scientology, google L. Ron Hubbard.

Scientology, like all religion, is another slick attempt by a crafty leader to control immature people by offering them an all purpose "cop-out" for screwing up in life.

Thanks to a true miracle of science THE INTERNET SEARCH ENGINE, in ten minutes you can research almost any religion and see the respective control mechanisms at work.
