My cat recently found one of my roomates puppies "nylabones" and absolutely loves it. Although he usually just pushes it around he does occasionally chew on it and i'm just wondering if anyone knows for sure whether it's safe for him or not. It's the flexible plastic bone, not the edible ones. I've contacted the company but haven't heard back from them so I was hoping for some input on here. Thanks!

do not let your cat chew on a nylabone! cats have very sharp teeth, and if he should break off and swallow a piece, it could cause a blockage in his intestines. this could be fatal.

I would be concerned about the cat breaking off a piece of the plastic and swallowing it. Nylabones are pretty sturdy so I imagine there is little chance of that happening - but then again why take that chance with the life of your cat.

I'd go out and get your cat a replacement toy....

I would think it would be safe for him and not particularly good if he can get a large piece of it down his esophagus. When you hear from the company I wish you would let us know.
