I looked all over my house, and I could only find one. Has anyone else ever had a cat give birth to one kitten?

Forgot to mention, she gave birth while no one was at home. That is why I looked all over the house.

It is not wierd that your cat gave birth to only one kitten, most cats range from having one kitten to 5 or more. She could of had more but they did not make it. Do not worry, I have a cat for 5 years and each year she only had one kitten per litter. They are healthy and that is the perfect gift, their health. Enjoy the kitten and name it a special name becuase now the mother can fully take care of it instead of worrying about her other kittens.

Wow...im pretty sure i asked this same thing about 6 months ago! I took my cat to the vet, who told me she wasnt pregnant, but the next morning, i was woken up by my 3 children shouting at me that our young cat had had a kitten at the end of my daughters bed!
We waited for her to have another, but nothing ever appeared!! Even stranger was the fact that the grandmother to the tiny kitten stayed in with the mum cat!! So while the mum was feeding the kitten, her mum was cleaning it!!!
I was reluctant to give the kitten away, as we all grew really attached to her as she became so friendly since being spoilt rotten by everyone.
Be cool if every cat only had one kitten at a time really....has to be easier to litter train one instead of 5 or 6!!

It definitely seems unusual to me. It is the first time I have heard of a cat only having one kitten. I knew of a sow giving birth to only one piglet. Is this the first time the cat has given birth? I think this could have something to do with it.

Cats can have 1-6 kittens on average... be glad she only had one!

cats vary in the number of kittens they have. My friend's older female cat only had three her first litter and then two her second. Then her daughter ended up with six her first litter.

SPAY YOUR CAT!!!!!!!!!
Consider it a miracle that she only had one. Do you have any idea how much you contribute to the devastating animal overpopulation? Just one unspayed cat be accountable for thousands of cats within a short number of years, a HUGE portion of which are euthanized. As the chain goes on, the numbers add up. Do some research.

Very. Depending on the circumstances, your cat should've had 3-4.
It's possible that she still has a few more kids to introduce.
But I would suggest taking her to a vet just to be sure.

i had a cat several years ago that had only one kitten in her first litter, only three in the next one. your cat probably bred only once near the end of her heat cycle

t would be weird if she gave birth to a hamster
that is was a kitten is normal
is she very young
then it is likely
or daddy had a low sperm count.
