Actually Smack, the reason we started paying income taxes was to fund the war effort during WWII. Since then, it has escalated to include social services. They're called history classes and if you graduated from high school, you would have taken some by now.

.. the "american taxpayer" is a contradiction of legal terms in the first place seeing is how it is debateable that income tax is legal in the first place ... the idea that we must pay taxes to support our country and govt is a complete and utter deception ... its an outright fallacy ... we pay income tax because of quazi-legal legislation pushed through by the banks to guarantee loans made to the govt are backed up by ur taxes ... the truth of the matter is that congress could take control of the financial system constitutionally and print the money and control the amount in circulation itself without the need of the central bank- tax-the-people scheme. .. so in reality ... what the frick do illegals really have to do with taxes and the economic problems when nobody including most of the members of congress dont even understand how the system works?

.you have to have a S.S number to pay taxes "illegals" are illegal because they don't have that , they do not benefit the tax paying system at all
