He's at college and he's not finding many people to hang with (or date), and he's kind of shy because he doesn't want to say the wrong thing. How can I help him, any advice? (we have a thing, but I want him to be happy too)

Suggest that he look for a club that he is interested in. Most college campuses have organizations for just about everything, and it's a great way to meet people that you know you have something in common with.

take the lead, IF u want him, go for it, take him by the hand and go have a blast, do fun things, open him up. If u don't want him then go meet new people and bring him along, that way your the one meeting new poeple and introducing him as well, so they become mutual friends, then slowly back out (only if ur not interested in the group)m and leave them with an all new group of people he is comfortable with now, once u get him to open up a little chances are he'll do the rest once he's comfortable too. I have done this with countless friends although they were my female friends and being a girl obviously there was no "thing" its still a sure fire way to help someone you care about experience the world.

Tell him to hit the books and get good grades.

Tell him to listen to music at least 30 minutes a day.

Tell him he can always email you, you are happy to talk to him in confidence.
