Yes! My dad has both Fibromyalgia AND Parkinson's disease :( Something happened a little while ago where he woke up one day & couldn't even move & for the next month or so he could barely do anything...he couldn't go up & down the stairs anymore, had no strength & had to use a walker to walk around & everything. The doctor finally prescribed Requip & he's doing sooooo much better! Doesn't need the walker & can go up & down the stairs now.

I take Requip for restless leg syndrome. I also have fibromyalgia because I have mixed connective tissue disease and I do find that since Requip my fibromyalgia is not as bad.

For me it is helpful. One thing that helps with the pain of fibromyalgia is a good, restful sleep. Restless legs often interfere with that good sleep, and is very common in people with fibromyalgia.
Since I have been taking requip, I do rest better, and my pain is less and easier to control.

I don't know about that, but I took it for restless leg syndrome... it worked splendidly. I would get a second opinion, requip is strong stuff.

Some doctors are using it for fibro. Some patients say it does help some.
Have you been tested for a low thyroid? If so, was it a free t3 test? Many people who have fibro have it because of an underactive thyroid. It's worth testing to find out if that's the reason you have it. If you haven't tested for thyroid, ask for a TSH, free t4 and free t3.

That sounds a bit odd. The truth about Fibromyalgia is that it is caused by toxicity. One of the best known natural things to do for this is to consume a quality bio-available whey protein isolate. In a nut shell, what this will do is provide your body with the means to create glutathione - which is a natural substance that the body produces. The problem is that we live in a world where we have a deficiency of essential amino acids (most people cook their sources of protein). One of the big functions of glutathione is that it is the body's natural detoxifier. When we have a deficiency in essential amino acids in our diet, we don't produce enough glutathione. When that happens, toxins will build up and in some people, they develop things like fibromyalgia.
I know a woman in Arkansas who had fibromyalgia for 25 years, tried all sorts of things and three days after starting with the bio-available whey protein, she was able to sleep through the night for the first time in decades. I'm not saying that 3 days is typical, but it makes a point. That was the only change she made. If you want more info, contact me.

It depends on the level of pain that you have, and the type of pain (skeletal or muscular, inflamatory), but Anaprox works well for my gf. It's an anti-inflamatory.
