Unfortunatly, it is instinct for your cat. My male cat was fixed long before he was able to do the nasty and yet when we got a female cat that wasn't spayed my male hopped right up on her and did his thing. When u fix a cat, your not removing the urge, just the ability to spray and make babies.

Hi there...To state this as delicately as possibly, the sensation or urge is still there even though the hormonal desires has been removed. Although the testicales have been removed, there is still sensation in the rest of his organs. Possible your hump cat is trying to relive some encounters he had with the queen cats. :).

» MALE CAT SEXUALITY
Hi Carole,
I have a 10 year old male cat that has been neutered since he was 6 months old. Last week he started sitting on the back on the couch pillows rooting and quivering like he was about to have an orgasm. What is he doing? I did not know if something was wrong with him or just something he is going through. Can you answer anything about these actions?
Dear Guardian Barclay:
A neutered male cat still retains his sexuality. So your cat's behavior may be a result of sexual energy. But because he is a senior cat, you want to be sure that this behavior is not triggered from a medical problem. Why not schedule a vet appointment to check this out. Good luck!

Animals have sexual urges just like humans. It doesn't matter if they are fixed or not. My shihtzu Samantha has been fixed for 10 years and she still humps a teddy bear that is just her size. The teddy bear is so torn up with big holes in him where she has bitten him while humping him.
She doesn't touch anything else so I call him her boyfriend. I keep him in a basket because he is so dilapidated and I don't want to touch him. She just goes and drags him out about 3/4 times a week for her enjoyment. So male or female, it's an sexual urge that they have.

This is very normal for male cats to do even after getting fixed. My cat does it so we gave him his own furry pillow so that our pillows would be safe from him.

I have a cat that does that, too and he's fixed. As long as he's not spraying around the house, it's okay.

It's still a natural thing for them to do. We had a male do the same thing.

it's a sign of dominance and agression that is perfectly natural, and he does it to pillows because there are no other cats to do it to.
