Well, I think, based upon your AFQT score, that they will probably try to "steer" you into intelligence or psyops - but you can be firm, you want to do legal specialist - or you won't enlist.
Another option is to shop the other services (i.e. Air Force, Navy, Marines) and see what they say.
But - I'd make it clear that legal specialist is what you want to do - and you're not interested in doing anything else.
The problem is - you can only go on your recruiters word that you'll go into legal specialist - and that instead he (or she) doesn't put you into a different field.
I suppose you could ask to take the paperwork home and review it before you actually sign it - and see if there is any "small print" that says they can put you where you want, or you get signed up for something else. If you know a lawyer, or a legal specialist, perhaps they can look it over with you and make sure there aren't any loop holes.
Also, considering your score, perhaps you should consider going to college first - perhaps you could get into an ROTC program, and have the military pay for your school (or even West Point, Anapolis or the Air Force Academy), and then you'll be an officer rather than enlisted - you certainly seem smart enough.
The bottom line is this - you hold the advantage. The recruiter needs you - you don't need him/her. You can walk away, you can goto another branch of the service. Don't let them pressure you into anything you don't want to do, or sign anything that you don't fully understand.
Good luck to you!

First of all: Land_sand, JAG desk gofer? C'mon be for real! I am a 27DC5 In the USARMY. I am loving it!
The higher your GT is the more of jobs you have a choice for. You should think about going to the officer side and work on becoming a lawer. I am considering that route now...
Either way, dont sign any papers unless that is what you want to do. Read it over, if anything, walk away! Best of luck!
Drop me an E-mail I will tell you about the school!

The only thing that your intelligence is going to ensure is that you are going to have more choices for your MOS choice when you go to MEPs. They can't force you to join that MOS unless YOU sign the contract that states you are going into that field. If you go to MEPs and say that you want that specific job and are qualified for it then most of the time they will give it to you, if not, then just tell them you don't want to join, you would be suprised how quickly that job will become available. Just make sure that you don't sign anything until you know for sure that the mos you want is in your contract.

No, my son scored 99 & he is an Infantry Officer & Army Ranger. It was his requested MOS. His best friend scored 99
& was a Harvard graduate lawyer & he is an Infantry Officer.
He chose it too. No one is guaranteed a MOS. Good luck!

The Intelligence and Psyops MOS is the best MOS to get in the US Army. More rank in both of them. If I was you,
i would take them up on their offer and don't hestitate.

They get bigger bonuses for different MOS's. Some jobs are harder to fill. They will let you have the job, but the recruiter ill push you and lie to you about being over qualified.

Nothing is absolute in these times the military is facing.
However before you get sworn in get a breech of contract signed, make copies and keep in a safe place.

Whatever you sign up for is guaranteed, unless there is a war or something, then you become 11B.
