Check out this website... It gives all the daily amounts, food pyramid, and suggested ways to meet the nutritional needs of an adolescent. Great information! Really basic format!

Kudos to you for wanting to be informed! My kids are young, so I still get to make their food choices for them, but I know the time is coming where they will start making those choices for themselves.

Sugar? None --refined sugar is not a dietary requirement at all.

Sodium? None -- modern food has plenty of salt in it, you can't get away from it.

Calories? About 15 calories each day for every pound of weight. For a very active athelete, 18 or even 20 calories per day per pound might be required.
