a cocktail?!?!?!? I think you meant a cockateil, right? if no one wants her ask a local vet or see if there is an animal or bird rescue near you. log on to www.petfinder.com and along the left hand side there is a link for "local shelters" you have to enter your zip code and probably set the drop down menu to birds- but you can see a listing of rescue or shelters in your area that you could call to see if they could help you out.

T D - Two suggestions for you. 1. Check with your vet. Sometimes they will help you find a good home or they will take pets as "office" pets. 2. Purchase a copy of "Bird Talk" magazine (pet stores should have current copies). In the advertisement section in the back of this monthly magazine you will find a section where you can sell or find someone who is looking to buy birds. Good luck, Andrea

Nowadays there are rescue groups for birds just as there are for dogs and cats so if you MUST give her up, try to get her into one of these. Is there no way you can take her with you? As someone else said, the bird is already use to you. Don't give her away "free to a good home" unless it's someone that you know. You run the risk of giving her to someone that won't take good care of her.

I will take her. I hate to think you would be desperate enough to give her to just anybody. I had a parrot that lived to be 37 years old. That is the oldest captive parrot my vet had ever seen, though their lifespan is about 75! I love birds. Raised a baby sparrow for 7 months! I hope you live near me!

Please contact a Parrot Rescue Organization. Since I don't know where you are, here is a list:
http://www.aeras-parrots.org/index.html
http://www.clevelandpeac.org/CMS/
http://www.fosterparrots.com/
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/FL578.html
http://www.parrothelp.org/
http://www.phoenixlanding.org/
http://www.thegabrielfoundation.org/Home/
There are more available but this should get you started. Find the one closest to you and give them a call.
But please try and place her with family or friends. This way you will be able to visit her and check up on her. She loves you and I always feel it is such a shame when these things happen. I understand the necessity of it, but at least knowing she is with someone who you trust will take a lot off of your mind.
Keep trying to place her and please place her with someone who will do a good job.
Good Luck.

If you dont live near Norfolk or Newport News Virginia or surounding areas and states I will pay to have her flown in. You can email me at Brattygrl697@yahoo.com or message me on here. What is she? Pearl, Pied? Doesnt matter always cool to know though. I have alot of experience and your bird will be going to a good home with lots of love care and attention. My birds are spoiled rotten. What city are you in?
I do advise people never to give away their pets. Always charge something. My theory is if they can't pay at least $10 - $20 they don't need the animal.

Have you put a free ad in bulletin boards at pet shops like Petsmart, Pet Supermarket, etc?

Wow - as regardless of the reality that everybody of the female sex can jointly agree on an answer for your question? Take sex and gender out of the equation, and elegance an same question: might want to you want to be made to sense particular and unique? for sure you would possibly want to; the human ego demands it.
