How many times would you get totally dumped by people you really care for before you gave up on dating? All that B.S. about getting back on the horse wears thin after you get thrown and kicked enough times. What's your limit?

I appreciate everyone's input, but this question wasn't about me. I do think my own personal limit would be maybe 4 or 5 times. Nice that everyone thinks I'm about to have a cow and go on a rampage. Guess I should have worded it a little differently.

If I'd been hurt, it would take me awhile to get into another relationship. However, if I kept getting dumped over and over again, I would look at myself and try and figure out WHY I keep getting dumped. Am I choosing the same type of person who has the same qualities which are incompatible? Do I keep doing the same things in each relationship without taking time to learn from my mistakes? Each relationship should be looked at as a lesson if only to learn what you do and don't want in a person. Don't give up entirely, but don't jump back on the horse without doing some soul-searching!

There is no limit. My advise: don't look for serious relationship and stop caring so much. Live your life, have fun and the right person that CARES ABOUT U will come when u least expect it , and only then U can take it to the next level and start caring for that person as well...
if u not gonna follow the advise and keep falling for every girl u'll get dumped much more in the future, the key is : don't be serious, take it easy

I don't exactly know when enough is enough, but I do know that if you keep making the same choices, you'll always get the same result. Change your choices. Also...maybe you're just jumping too quickly from an ended relationship into a new one...take some time and let your heart heal.

Seriously evaluate why you keep getting tossed maybe its that you let people take advantage of you or maybe you wear your heart on your sleeve. Either way once you take a look at those answers then you can possibly choose new people to be part of your life and a good tip i once got was to stop looking and the right person will find you.

If it's the same, perhaps it's time to move on. If not, move on anyways. There's no limit. You're heart can't be broken if it's still. So "getting back on the horse" may not be ideal advice, but it beats the alternatives.

There is NO limit, for me at least. I just keep getting right back on, and will until I find the right one.....if it takes the rest of my life. Go back out there and try again. I think the right one is looking for you as well. She deserves a good man, and will love you for who you are. Good Luck!!

It wouldn't have taken me many times of going through that. I'm sorry to hear that you're having this recurring pain.

Some ideas...
The next time you're in a relationship (and you will be!), you should be very open about this past up front.

Tell her / him that people have earned your trust and taken advantage of you by disposing of you. Let your new partner know that you don't want to waste yourself on this type of disposable dating anymore, and if he or she will not invest him/herself in the relationship, it cannot go any further.

I'm sending you a psychic hug. : -) Best of luck to you.

But it's true! You do have to take it like a man and keep getting back on that horse! Do you really want to give women (or men) up just because you on a slump?
