For a few reasons:
*Subconsciously we assume that if the pretty people have one good trait on the outside (being pretty), they must have good traits on the inside and be as fun, smart, nice, interesting, etc., etc. as we imagine them to be. It's called the "Halo Effect" and has been well documented by studies. See: http://ezinearticles.com/?The-Use-of-Attraction-Will-Empower-Your-Sales-Team&id=209999.
*Secondly, we look at or take notice of the pretty ones first, ignore the ugly ones and don't bother to get to know them because we don't wanna look at them.
*Thirdly, even when we realize the pretty ones AREN'T as great on the inside as on the outside, we pursue them or stay with them way too long, thinking, "Oh, well, at least s/he looks good!" Or "Everyone will think I'm the bomb because I'm with Mr. or Ms. XYZ."

Well no one is ugly, everyone is pretty in there own way. So people fall inlove with others for a little more than just looks, maybe there something that's pretty about them that no one else felt was pretty about that person.

Love sees with the heart, not with the eyes.

There are people who wear their beauty within and people who are beautiful on the outside. Sometimes people are beautiful both inside and out and sometimes beauty is a mask to hide an ugly soul. There are no ugly people.

We fall in love with the beautiful ones and stumble into love with the ugly ones, who then look beautiful to our eyes.

I think it is just human nature and what we are attracted to. We do not take the time to get to know people who we are not initially attracted to. But sometimes if we do take the time we can realize that the "ugly" people are really the most beautiful.

Because people forget that beauty comes from within. It is not what is on the outside that matters, it is what is on the inside that matters. No I anot one of the "ugly" people that you are refering to, but I do not judge people by their looks, I get to know them and then allow myself to follow my heart reguardless of what is on the outside. That is how I was brought up, and I have taught my children the same thing. Good advise if you ask me.

We really don't.

Why do you suppose that all of the train wreck relationship shows on TV involve the "pretty" people. Think of all of the truly happy couples you know that have been in long term relationships (more that say, 6 years) OF those, what percentage are "pretty" People?

Because when we fall in love with someone they are beautiful to us. To my friends my boyfriend may not have been the hottest guy ever but I found him incredibly sexy. Everyone likes something different, that's what makes the world go round.

there is a research article i read in a local newpaper that mention man is the most easy fall in love with 'pretty gal' mammals. they is a few percent of man who fall in love with the 'not so pretty ' gal, after they found out the quality they are looking for is in it. this is just a logic.

as the old saying goes~~ if you were in a room full of people what people would attact you the most? ~~ the ones that you feel visually attracted to!

that does sound really shallow, but its the truth......

is it right? i think by doing this we are missing out on getting to know some wonderful people and possibly not finding our soul mate...
