Let me clarify something. I am getting this doxie and her 2 y/o daughter from someone who has always kept them outside.

Yes he will - he'll be really happy to be in the house with his people. You'll just have to teach him a few manners involved with living in a house that he won't know, house train him, but with a 4 year old that won't be hard.

Of course. A dachshund is a good house dog. I have a buddy who was an indoor dog and his owners had to give him up after 3 years. He is now an outdoor dog and has no problem with it. PS: Just don't smother him too much at first. Give him a little space.

slowly and with a lot of work. they are such small dogs and they love to be around the family that the dog would love to be indoors!! But do it slowly. Start with just a few hours a day inside and gradually build up. And remember to be patient when housebreaking!

He will most likely love being indoors, but I would have a doggy door so he can go outside and play too when he wants.

the main suitable suggestion is to take it slow and hassle-free. If the shy one has taken the preliminary steps to take a seat on your lap, it relatively is great. She's showing you she needs affection yet she's unsure a thank you to settle for it. on a similar time as she's on your lap, gently stroke her and refer to her. tell her what a sturdy lady she is. at last she would have the ability to get to the factor of no longer shying away. you could love her as much as you decide on without choosing her up.

Yes crate him until he is potty trained. He will love being inside.
