Absolutely. If your living in their home, you and your brother don't have cabinets, your parents do. Something tells me there is a reason they're searching "their" cabinets, have you and your brother been bad kids? Normally a parent will not go through their kids things without a concern. But remember this, parent, child relationships are not a democracy, you have no say and zero rights. Unless it involves abuse, shut your mouth, and count the days till your 18, then get out if your so worried about your privacy.

Yes, as long as you live under their roof, they have the right to know everything that is in their house, their home. They pay the bills, don't they? Do you realize that if the police found any illegal drugs, paraphenalia, etc, your parents would be legally responsible and could be charged for it? I promise you will understand when you are a parent, if you take parenting seriously. Do you or your brothers have anything to hide? If you do, ask yourself why you are putting you and your parents in such a position. Your parents are legally responsible for EVERYTHING you and your brothers do until you are 18, and still responsible after that for anything in THEIR home.

Sounds like they are concerned parents who are trying to protect their sons. It is their house, and as long as you are a minor, you have to live by their rules. If this includes searching everything in "your" cabinets yes they definitely have that right. If you are not hiding anything, you should not be worried.

They're your parents, they have every right to search you. But, if you dont have anything to hide, why worry yourself. Until they're satisfied, they won't leave you alone. I'm guessing your like 16 or younger, because those are the ages people start drugs. They just care about you and want you in the best health as possible. Love them for what they're doing, don't dislike them.

Their house, thier cabinet, that they are letting you guys put your stuff in, and if they have a reason to look, then YES they have the right. When you are 18 and move out, then you can say they don't have a right.

And what if they did not? would you like to know a secret. Parents who look for that look because they care and love you and do not want anything to happen to you. They want you to be around a long time. If they did not look then that means that they do not care. Loving your children means being involved in their lives as much as you can . When you have children of your own you will undrestand this alot better. Right now you feel as though it is wrong. Trust me they Love you and if you have nothing to hide you will be gald to know that you are building up trust with them everytime they do it.

Have they found anything? Do you have anything to hide? Sorry but now that I have a son and with the world today I will be going through his cabinets and drawers. I mean, it shows that in a way they dont trust you but in another way they are just concerned.

The only reason they'd be searching your stuff is if you've given them a valid reason to do it. I have four boys at home and when my oldest son started hanging around with a different crowd, acting up, and lost my trust, I not only searched his room, I handed him a cup to pee in. Your parents are only doing what they think is right to keep you on track. If you don't like it, don't give them a reason to think something is up.

Only if you are living in their house. If you are on your own with your brother, then no. It sounds like they are supporting you in their house. Under their roof, you need to follow their rules. They care about you and don't want you to get into trouble. It also sounds like they have reason to suspect that you are using these things. If you're clean and are honest with them, then they wouldn't have a reason to go through your things.

It may be morally and ethically wrong, but legally is right, and parentally its very right.
I believe they are trying to protect you, not nail you.
All of the above only applies if these "cabinets" are in a home they bought and pay for.
