Actually, hot water isn't very good because it causes your skin to swell, which compresses the glass tighter into your skin. Flush your finger with cold water, and squeeze your finger in the direction that flows with the direction the glass went in. For example, if the glass went in the tip of your finger, you will squeeze your finger from the bottom up.

Splinters is one thing. But a piece of glass is another thing I would go to the doctor. For nothing such as glass should be removed with out doctor guidance. The piece of glass needs to come out so you do not get a blood infection.

Really aggravating huh? Put a band-aid on it so it wont bother you. In a day or two it will surface. You can use tweezers or a small string, rubbed over the finger, to bring it to the skin surface.

Grandma never taught you how to do this? Shame

well, this works on splinters so it might work on glass, put elmers glue on your funger where the glass is and let it dry. then when it drys you can pull it off SLOWLY and hopefully the glass will come out with the glue. Good luck!

go to a doctor

don't wait until it gets infected or enters your blood stream

or cut over the spot and fish it out with a sterilized (with rubbing alcohol) needle
