So you people are telling me religion came about by the poor, I say Bullsh*t, it came about from the kings, or the head of the tribe, and we as a society have followed in it's foot steps, so I say unto you it was from the rich or powerful that we have followed into doom, with their religion, open your eyes, you value the rich are you would not live like them

I'm sorry, but you have little idea about which you speak. The Bible is my belief system, and I am anything but powerful and rich. My values are set much higher than those powerful and rich people who claim to be Christians. By saying this, I am hardly trying to sound like I am great.....I am just upholding my values, and the fact that Christ was NOT a politician. Do your research a little more carefully, and don't be duped by fast talkers.

We are all the equal children of God. Rich people are rich today, poor people will be rich tomorrow and vice-versa.
Religion is not the product of rich people, it is the divine light for all rational beings who don't wrongly think that they are anything meaningless in the grasp of temporarily rich people.
We need divine guidance to distinguish fact from fiction.
See, the fact/fiction confusion is that we are blindly fighting against each other more brutally than cats and dogs; and we would be deprived of sleep for fear of mass destruction, if we are not conscienciously putting our trust in the divine guidance and omnipotent protection of the One True God.
And our way to higher civilization is to put the teachings of the Messengers of God into practice. This is why we need religion and the Holy Books. God's wisdom has make almost all the Holy Books freely and easily accessible for all mankind at the Gutenberg Project.

I'm neither powerful nor rich, nor do I force my belief system on society. I'm not sure which country you live in, but the U.S. and its society don't reflect the values of any of the major religions. Society's values are no values that I'd want anything to do with. We have a 50% divorce rate in our country. We have tons of homeless folks. A huge unemployment issue. Health care is one of the largest costs that companies now face. None of these things have anything to do with any values that the Bible teaches.

Perhaps I missed your point. Maybe you can clarify.

yes we are being conned but that does not automatically mean that scripture is a big lie. Liers use scripture for their own purposes. If you read scripture for yourself you will see this is not new and that the scripture exposes this as a practice to be looking for, and even tells how to avoid it and how to recognize it. This shows, i believe the wisdom contained within the scriptures, and there is another marvelously interesting thing, until the point where you and God become friends, it is very difficult to get anything out of scripture (thus it is so easy to wrongly use) but afterwards one loves to read it and it becomes an illuminating experience not only instantly but over and over even though you read the same area weeks apart. Do not confuse religion with being God's friend.

there is no necessity for you to accept it. find your own belief system and live according to it. if it's a good one, it'll make positive changes to yourself and the world around you, and will eventually penetrate through society. true social and ideological change works from the bottom up, not from the top down.

Society doesnt accep these things, otherwise they would be taught in schools. Society is humanistic, and hence why rich people rule it.

Why does the bible condemn the Vatican?
