first, u must love God, make Him the centre.
that means, have right motivation.
what is the right motivation? to lead the people have an encounter with God Himself.
second, if u want to be a good praise and worship leader, so you must have a life that filled with praise and worship. it must be ur daily lifestyle.
third, you can sing well, n know how to do it well with the music. be good to ur p&w team. :)
fourth, have faith. believe you can make it.
fifth, go chasing for experience.
sixth, make sure ur calling.
if God's call for u not 4 being a p&w leader, so stop it.
but if He really calls u to bless people with that way,...
do not worry... step by step He will guide u, n teach u, so one day not just about GOOD p&w leader, but u will be the GREAT one! :)

Some people will tell you that all you have to do is to "be filled with the Spirit". While that's a true enough statement it isn't like God waves a magic wand over your head and you suddenly become a good praise and worship leader. You should learn from others who have gone before you. Plus it takes practice to get used to leading a praise team. There are different churches that play different music and have different traditions of worship and so you should be familiar with what those are. Then there are things like song selection and the order of the songs. There are certain unwritten rules like not introducing more than one new song in a session and stuff like that. There are probably a couple of links on the Free Stuff page @ http://web.express56.com/~bromar/ that can help you out or do a search and you will come up with some basics to consider. In the end it has to be Spirit led worship, but that doesn't absolve you from the responsibility of doing your due diligence to be prepared ahead of time as much as lies within you.

It is good to be a good praise and worship leader but please remain conscious ofm the fact that as with any role in the church, it is not by might, not by power, but by the Spirit of God that will make you able to enter His gates and courts with praise and thanksgiving.
Keep praying about it. Also, find opportunities to serve as a co-leader or assistant in worship. If you work with someone who knows how to lead worship, then you will learn how to do so and eventually you will be able to lead worship and praise.
God bless you for the desire to be involved in worship. I know He will grant you that desire.

Become an atheist. Shrugging of religious superstition will make you more in touch with reality. This will increase the compassion you have for other people and make you a better leader.
