I totally agree. Online gf/bf are pointless. You are not in a true relationship unless you can hold, kiss and spend time with each other. Yes, cybering is dumb too, the whole concept is stupid.

The couple may not have met in person, but that doesn't mean they can't have a relationship. They're exchanging ideas, and having conversations. They might not have the physical intimacy of what you call a "real" relationship, but then again, an online relationship is one that's based solely on personality. Plus, online you can meet people all over the world who share your interests.
Just so you know, I've never dated online, but one of my friends recently moved in with a girl he's been dating for five years and for the first three their relationship was online.
Sounds like you have a narrow definition of what a relationship should be.

I have had only one online relationship, I met him through internet and 6 and a half years later we are still together, I think that if we had met in person in the beginning we wouldn't had even dated, since we have different tastes in the superficial things, but writing and chatting to made us know each other better I think it's good if you take the time to know each other first before you meet. He's the longest relationship I've had, and if for whatever reason I was unattached again, I'd do it all over again!

i agree with what you said about cybering and with the online relationship thing i kinda agree because its stupid callin each other bf and gf if you havent even met but it shows that you like the personality and not the looks. i think u should only be in a relationship if you know how the other person looks though. so i guess yea i agree with you.

To Ashley: You're swimming against the tide there, my friend.
My personal opinion about this issue is highly contentious. I'm uncertain myself, because I was in a relationship that lasted for two years. Oh yes, I loved her, with all of my heart. It took about a year for us to meet up (she lived in Singapore, I in Australia) and it was the happiest time of my life. All that longing and wishing to know what she smelt like, how she smiled, how she felt in my arms... It was worth it. It was worth all that pain of loving. That said, we talked on the phone and through webcam, so we weren't total strangers. I knew everything about her, and she knew everything about me. It was just one of those relationships that was perfect while it lasted, you know?
Cybering on the other hand... I believe sex is far above just wanting to do it (usually) with a stranger online because you're horny. But I'm against it as a general rule. I never cybered with my girlfriend.
Let me assure you though: Online relationships are not fake. They don't usually last, true, but they are most definitely not fake. If you can survive the pain of being worlds apart, your love will be all the stronger.

because of the fact they have 0 wish of looking a bf/gf in actual life. There are quite a few conceivable reasons for this, yet i visit checklist the 5 maximum possibly. a million. they are butt grotesque (sorry to insult all the butts obtainable) 2. they are socially unacceptable and have no manners 3. they are from Ghana or Nigeria and % to stay in u . s . a . 4. they are lacking limbs 5. They have been trapped of their abode by utilising an avalanche and could in straightforward terms seek advice from the outdoors worldwide by utilising utilising cyber web.

Well, "stupid" wouldn't be the word I would have used. I just call it a "fantasy" relationship because I don't think its real either. To actually be considered boyfriend/girlfriend I think you need to meet each other, hang out with one another, etc. Cybering... I agree with you there it is stupid.

I have to agree. It's not much not having your bf with you, and all you can rely on is the internet just to remember he's even alive. Unless he's somewhere in your area, and you met him online, but you can still see him in person, than i dont have a prob. But just meeting him online, and just keeping it all "online" is annoying.
