He will only use the potty befor getting in the bath tub other then that he will only use the floor, heaters, ect. ect. I wuz able to potty train his sister in no time at all but with him it seems to be a little more ahh difficult oh and i have been trying to potty train him for the last 6 months so i would welcome any ideas. this is what worked with my 3 year old. who is newly trained. i took him instead of telling him to go. every little while take him and put him on the potty and make him sit there for awhile.longer than a minute or two. take him every half hour to an hour if he goes praise him. if not take him again in a half an hour. keep at it consistency is the key. if you know its been awhile since he last went go put him on the potty

I also just started potty training my daughter. What I do is give her one smartie for going to the washroom the room itself and I make her sit on the potty for two minutes then give her one more smartie. I also bought suckers (lollipops) so if she does go pee or poo she will get the reward of that. I also read her a dora potty book and another potty book. As well as let her use her bubble machine because it makes the time fly by and she will normally stay on longer that way. I have been potty training since Saturday and only had two success' its very very very hard to keep your cool and be persistent. But that's the key I think but really what do I know I'm only a couple days ahead of you.

hello,
I am in the same boat. My son will go to the toilet when i say "bath time!" he goes takes diaper off and gets on the toilet. I have tried the trainers, since pull-ups are expensive. I even went and bought the plastic pants to cover it up. I ask every 5 minutes "Do you need to go potty?".."No". I am also at my wits end. I asked around and found out that he most likely isn't ready or could just be a bit lazy. Girls are great, mine was trained in 2 weeks.
All i can say is "keep at it" he should get it. Maybe take him to the potty every 15 minutes? I tried it, but didn't work for me.
I have given up. I figure when he's ready he'll do it.
PS...If you succeed, please tell me how you did it, sure would like to stop caring a diaper bag around.
Best of luck
God Bless

I went through this not long ago. Mine is almost four. And I tried to potty train him several times. And when he started going to day care last winter it started working. They would take him to the bathroom every 30 min. So when I got him home I would do the same. He would pee in the toilet with no problem. Getting him to poop was another chore. I had to bribe him with m&m's for that one. It work for a while. We still have problem's with the #2 everynow and then but it's getting better. Good luck.
