When I had bad breath my owner tried milk bones, I loved them but it didn't work. Then he switched my dog food to a lamb and rice formula. It seemed to help. The little poodle next door seems to agree.

Take the dog to the vet. If you feed your dogs canned or wet type food, they can get tartar build up rapidly, EVEN WITH BRUSHING. Some dogs naturally build tartar up faster than other dogs. A really bad buildup can cause the gums to become infected, which can cause horrific breath. Also, there could be a tooth or teeth with decay under the gums called neck lesions. These can cause bad breath also. All the treats and Greenies will only mask a symptom. Take the dog to the vet and have his mouth checked and schedule a dental cleaning.

Get the Vet to check your dogs teeth. Our dog had horrible breath, he had to have a few teeth pulled.

brush at least once a day. i've heard peeps say they brush their dogs teeth and then find out later that they brushed them once. do it more often and it really works. my dog is ten and his teeth are in great condition. minus the one he lost when he tried to catch a soccer ball. i have a shih-ztu. catching soccer balls is not something he does anymore. lol. good luck.

maybe the problem is due to the type of diet you are feeding him, possibly change his food. Is he getting into something outside that is causing the oder? I suggest researching what could be causing the problem.

Good question. You have to stop feeding it with meat and start feeding it with rice and boil beans. It will become smart, too.
