I have this guy that is a friend. He has a girlfriend and i am newly single. I really really like him. He is so nice and super cute. Just when things started going good he got locked up. (Just until next month but still.) He is only in jail for something small. I let him call collect everyday and his girlfriend doesnt even accept his calls. I really like him and he says he likes me too. He has been with this girl for a long time and he doesnt know what to do. So, I talk to him everyday and write him. I like him more and more everyday. Now i dont know what to think. help please.

I'm gonna tell you the truth. You are admittedly recently single. Which means you are most likely on the rebound. So I am asking you to step back from this situation and really look at it. If you were your own best friend, would you want (you) to date someone who's been in jail and is likely using you right now because he is in jail? His girlfriend is obviously angry with him for being in jail, maybe she's got a point. I'm going to say that you don't need to date this "jailbird" (no matter how small the offense, the fact that he let it happen, shows a lack of resposibility) he's only trouble and you need to realize this. Please for your own sake, look at this situation like it was your best friend in and not you. You'll things much clearer that way.

I think you can do better than that, how about a non attached guy with a clean record? you just came out of a relationship and have the chance to choose any one you want, start all over again, it already seems like not such a good deal you are getting if you start with an already attached guy in jail. Also, if he drops his girl friend for you, chances are, he'll do the same to you in the future.
