Thanks for the answers. Though, as a proud citizen I will display the flag in proper manner. In a way that nobody else in my neighborhood has a light on their flag at night, I'm the only one. The question, was more to the length of time you display the flag for the proper ocassions. Checked the following and alike sites but none tell you the length of time.

As a proud citizen of the United States of America, I display the flag at my home every day. My parents always displayed the flag at our home when I was growing up and I have continued the tradition with my family. Have a good evening.

Display it until Osama Bin Laden is captured..Then you can take it down..... Yesterday, I saw a man on TV with a long long long beard. He said he stopped shaving when 911 happened because he was so busy watching TV...Then the following week he noticed he had quite the beard.. Then he decided he would not shave it until Osama was captured.... He is a teacher and he explains to everyone he sees why its so long and he is pretty popular over it.. I think its clever and a good reminder that killer boy Osama is still elusive
