If the maltese is show quality it is definitely worth the money, but this puppy is from a pet store, so it's not show quality, it's from a puppy mill. Don't buy a puppy from a pet store - ever!! You're asking for a load of trouble. If you're buying a purebred, buy only from a reputable breeder.

It depends on the type of quality. If it is a adult show dog, that would be pretty cheap, but if it is a adult house dog, then it is way expensive!!
If it is a puppy show dog, that would be about the right price, maybe a little bit too much, but if is a normal house dog, it is kind a expensive. Just to tell you, if you are buying a puppy, then it should be at least 6 months old or else it might not be healthy without it's mother by it's side.
Here is a website that gives you some info about a maltese:

relies upon on what 'assorted paintings' covers. If the physique and physique are comfortable with out any RUST.. (look interior the door jams on the backside) or physique rot (check out the fender welts) or rotted floor pan (%. up the rear seat and look under the battery in case you canchronic it on the expressway with out the front end shaking or damn (undesirable joints, bushings, or steerage damper) The engine could be rebuilt and changed for below $one thousand despite if it could be remarkable if it became no longer leaking oil and smoking like a coal plant chimney. finally, the trans axel could shift easily and downshift with out and intense grinding.. beginning uphill the automobile could develop up with the engine (if the engine races the grab could be undesirable or the main substantial seal could be leaking oil on the grab plate) those are some concern-unfastened policies to issues which would be probably very no longer common to handle (incredibly rust on the door jambs and frames ). in case you will get previous those then $six hundred is prob. a competent right end cost.. except that's a convertible and then that's a runaway scouse borrow. .

If it is from a pet store, no it is not worth $600. The puppy may very well get sick and die because these pups are raised in puppy mills and have a horrible start in life. Please do not get it from a pet store. $600 for a pup from a reputable breeder would be a good price.

A good maltese from a good breeder is worth much more than that.

well that would depend on papers and registration for the dog, also caring for the animal and can you afford vet teatment and attention but firstly check to make sure for that price the dog is a pure breed with papers and registration

The only way I'd buy a dog that costs that much money is if I planned to breed it to make my money back.
If you don't plan to breed the dog, adopt a dog from the shelter.
