A top-level fashion show has banned underweight models.

"Madrid's fashion week has turned away underweight models after protests that girls and young women were trying to copy their rail-thin looks and developing eating disorders."

I think since they already don't allow big girls, then what's the big deal about not allowing skinny girls? I think somewhere in the middle is best . . . everything in moderation. It's all about health in the end, whether you're over or under weight. Which is of course easier said than done. What do you guys think?

I agree. Top fashion models are too skinny. This causes that media put pressure on people in being skinny, too much that causes eating disorders like anorexia. I agree with the ban, girls on the street are not like the ones cat walking and they (some) look unhealthy and that's the main reason why it should be banned. And I'm happy my country ;) took that decision and hopefully others will. I love these kind of initiatives like the Dove's ad which shows real women. Hopefully it will work and this unrealistic world of models will change.

No they should not judge all an banned them.
I agree somewhat to the eating disorder with skinny women but I have known within my own family there is just a such thing as being blessed with being skinny,I have nieces that eat more than I ever did when I was younger an they never gain weight so bottom line is there is some people with fat genes an some that are born with slimmer genes and to bad I am in between ,I have been skinny with eating healthy an then I have gained weight eating out all the time,so it is a individual problem .

YES! In Hollywood the new size 5 is a 00! This is crazy! Girls and women should not be encouraged to starve themselves! This creates health problems later and they might not be able to have kids some day! Some women have died from health issues from trying to stay skinny! Real women have curves!
Now if a girl is a size 5 naturally, OK, but a size double 0 should not be what the standard is!

Not agree.
Let the market decide, if the industry already think that bigger models, will boost their sale more than the skinny ones, they will use the big ones.
What I think the runway should have is balanced, they should show the skinny, the average, and the big (but still proportional) models. That's how they show the customers that their line of clothes will look good on every curve.
For now, just enjoy the skinny ones. (I'm watching FTV's swimwear show and like them)
Just remember that you don't have to be that size to look good or to attract some guy's attention.

Health is far more important than whether you 'look' too skinny or too fat.
Some of these fashion models are using extremely unhealthy methods of remaining the size that the fashion industry has dictated thus far.
Fortunately outside pressures might see that start turning around where people are more likely to purchase clothes if they are seen to be worn by healthy, 'normal' models.
Lets hope so, and hopefully less women will be pressured into risking their health for the advertising dollar.

I totally agree with their decision. However the difference is that larger girls are not banned, they are just not usually preferred for catwalk. But I do agree, healthy weight models should be used. If they are going to be over 5ft9 tall, then they should not be size 0 and 2 and weigh 110lb!. Take care : )

I think most fashion models look like they have an illness. They really are too underweight. I've read that they do all kinds of unhealthy things to stay that thin. They may make lots of money, but they could ruin their health.

Skinny denims and adorable shirts are still in. A lot of men and women like to wear unfastened huge te-shirts with ray bands and numerous jewelery. Individuals are relatively into these gladiator sandals now. That is all i've obvious this summer season. I've now not obvious any person with colossal hoop jewelry but this summer season, but alternatively I additionally do not speak to trailer park tramps. Girls who put on hoop rings aren't aware that they don't seem "sizzling", they appear trashy. Folks put on striking earrings. I have seen people wear feathered jewelry (rings with feathers attached to the tip on them). It is kind of weird but it is actually quite adorable.

I disagree. When you have big bones, it is hard to keep the weight on. It is not the Models fault that girls are trying to look like them. They are just trying to do their job.
