My favourite remedy is to take a teaspoon full of sugar and add Angostura Bitters to it. Another good remedy is to sprinkle Angostura Bitters on a lemon wedge. You could even combine the bitters with both lemon and sugar as a kind of cocktail.
If these hiccups are recurrent on a daily basis, then a visit to a physician would be well advised.

this is hard to describe, but try drinking a glass of water upside down. I don't mean stand on your head... What I mean is - you stand up holding the glass. Bend forward and put your mouth on the outside rim of the glass (the rim farthest from you). Still bending at the waste, drink the water slowly (you're gonna have to kind of tip the glass into your mouth and it might get a little messy so do this where it's easy to clean up.) Trust me - I wouldn't have gone to the trouble of trying to type all of that if it didn't work. Has something to do with putting pressure on your diaphragm while you drink. Let us know how it goes!

It sounds silly but it is the ONLY thing that works for me:
Drink a glass of water from the wrong side of the cup!!!
That means hold the glass in front of you while standing up with your legs apart, then put the part of the glass that is furthest away from you to your lips you have to bend forward to do this, then keep moving your head down and forward until you can drink the glass of water (you head should be almost upside down while drinking) I swear it works!!!! try it and then let me know!!

The only way to do it is a sugar shot, a spoonful of sugar down the hatch, then again you might be a little hyper and can't go back to sleep so it works either way, also if it continues, check with your Doctor, this may be a result of your breathing in bed or some sort of sleep apnea. you never know

Take two fingers and press pretty firmly right up into and sort of up under your sternum- usually it's your solar plexus that's spasming, and holding your fingers there for a few minutes stops the movement, which allows the spasm to stop-your muscle there need to relax, in other words. Hope that helps.

if you are having recurring hiccups it could be a sign of something more serious...might want to check with your doctor.
in the mean time...a hiccup is a spasm in you diaphragm. what i have seen work numerous times is lying flat on your back and focus on making you abdominal muscle relax. it you can get the diaphragm relaxed the spasms will stop

Hang upside down, drink a glass of tap water and then hold your breath for about thirty to forty seconds. Works like a charm

Don't listen to anyone else. This way works all the time for me. Inhale as much as you can, then keep on inhaling gulps of air through your mouth. Don't let any escape. Finally, when you feel like you are about to explode, exhale. If it didn't work, try it again. It always works for me.
