My kitten is about 4 months or so, but she is still roughly the size that I got her at 2 months, all the other kittens that I have had before grew much faster, they were at least doulbe their initial length(from nose to hanches, by the time they were 4-5months. She isn't any particular breed, just a black and white, longhair, she eats and drinks properly, but she is still so small!

Make sure you are feeding your kitten a kitten formula cat food (they have more protein than adult formulas). Take a fresh sample of her poop (a ziploc bag makes for a great container) to your veterinarian and ask them to do a fecal exam for parasites. When you're getting the results of the fecal exam, take your kitten in and have it examined by the vet too. If the kitten gets a clean bill of health at the vet and is eating a kitten formula food, then its possible you're just going to have a petite cat.

Cats, like people, can be "petite" or large-sized so it's very hard to tell about a young kitten.

Has she been to a vet? If she is a client of a veterinary practice you can just run her by to be weighed and see if she has gained some since she was in for beginning shots, worming or whatever. If she has not been to a vet she needs to go right away. Not gaining weight can be caused by a worm infestation which the vet needs to give you meds for.

If you get your kitten checked out by a vet and he says everything is ok then you may have just gotten the runt of the litter and she may always just be on the small size.

I strongly suggest you take your kitten to an accredited Vet. There may be nothing wrong; it may be low quality food, internal parasites or genetics....none-the-less it should see a Vet. Good luck on the health of your new kitten.

When I got my girl kitten she was 4wks old & she only weighed 2lbs she is 2 years old now & she is only 6lbs she is just very little & still looks like a kitten the vet checked her & said that she was just petite.

She looks so little compared to my tomcat he is 20lbs. and my GSD is 80lbs she is so little but nothing wrong with her & she eats constantly but I wouldn't worry some are just meant to be petite.

Sometimes it depends on how many kittens were in the liter, the more kittens the smaller they are or maybe she was born premature. If you aren't sure take her to the vet.

I don't think anything's wrong with your kitten. She's just growing differently. Your so lucky. I wish my kitten would stay small and never grow.
