I'm not talking about salvation or spiritual growth in that sense.
I am specifically talking about spiritual activity that people experience. I've known a LOT of people who have experienced things that affected them. And whether or not their story was true, no one in the church even tried to counsel them on it.

that is because many of the pharisees of our time don't truly believe in the "spirituality of God, and ourselves". Many only deal with the part that makes them money. That is why many will not speak on certain issues that are straight abominations in the Eyes of God. Example... many ministers have many homosexuals in their congregation... but rarely address the issue and fact that they are abominations and will not enter in the kingdom of Heaven... they don't address it for they fear that they would loose that revenue. The spirituality is foreign to them because they don't understand, and refuse to admit that they do not understand.

I can't honestly say that all are like that; and I really hope that they all are not. But sadly, most of the ones I"ve come accross only focus on the money they can get... practically every thing they relate to lack of "paying" tithe, little realizing that God told us what the tithe is, and it wasn't just money as they make it out to be.

The short answer to your question is: How can they counsel something they know nothing about? It's not possible.

I believe that the church calling itself "Christian" suppresses the freedom of spirituality because spiritual awakening of people on a larger scale and spiritual liberation with direct contact with Jesus, would make it, as an instituton of influence and power, redundant.

If you would like to read more about the church and spirituality, please visit the Dhaxem website and click on the "What is Spirituality" button. The topic is developed there quite comprehensively. Then make up your own opinion.

I would like to respond to your question more fully here, but it would be a bit long for this space.

The church has nothing to do with Christianity. that is why Christ did not tell the apostles to start churches. Churches started in 325 AD and were under Roman authority. Spiritual matters are between you and God alone.

Im not sure I understand what your asking, But my spiritual walk is just that, mine, the church is the Body of Christ, Im sure everyone has their own spirituality, I don`t know of anyone who would attempt to doubt that something was of God or not, inless they have never experanced God.
