Through the history of the english language, many styles of writing and spellings have been changed in the past, why must people get so annoyed just because someone didn't follow the rules.English evolved from other languages. Why don't understand, that nothing should have rules and laws. But everything should be allowed to evolve.
Just a though that i had.

It doesn't upset me at all. I've got a Master's Degree in English, and I've studied how language has changed and evolved over the years. If a language is stagnant, it's either dying or dead. Even in the years since I got my degree, certain rules of punctuation and style have changed to adapt to the computer age.

One thing that does bother me, though, is someone who mangles spelling and grammar, then tries to say, "It doesn't matter, and you shouldn't judge me." In a setting like this, I'd tend to agree: this is informal writing, and it's not that much of a concern.

But when I see business letters, billboards, newspapers, etc. with misspelled words, punctuation goofs, and grammatical errors, I start to worry. Language shapes who we are, and if people think it's OK to use sloppy grammar, then what's going to happen to the quality of other things, as well?

that's an argument of rhythm--which be conscious do you % to emphasise, "no longer" or "know?" The so-noted as "grammar rule" you cite is a fiction of Victorian spinster grammarians who under no circumstances found out to place in writing. wherein of the Books of the previous or New Testaments is this "rule" enshrined? Grammar is a set of customary policies that exhibits you the thank you to get the effect you % at the same time as scuffling with the two confusion and a few thing you do no longer %--and what you're killing your self over is basically that style of "grammar," which sits nowhere on the ten Commandments. the shown fact which you be responsive to the version in meaning aspects freedom; do no longer confuse that with "negating" something.

Well, part of it is now we have to learn a lot more. When words suddenly spelled differently it means you have to learn the correct spelling. Etc. etc. So really it just means you have to learn more and people get annoyed.

I completely agree with you. Language change is what makes our systems of communication so vibrant and current all the time.

I hate it because, a lot of times, it changes because so many stupid people get something wrong that it becomes the standard.

Hm, I guess it just bothers me when people don't use proper grammar and punctuation when typing. Spelling doesn't really bother me though.
