Something could be heating up and a breaker opening. Once things cool off, it could re-set itself. Or someone could have a remote control and be playing tricks on you.

could be what is called "brown current" running in the walls if the house is an old one. This is of course if you've checked the plug and breakers....

Could also be sticky buttons on your remote... take the batteries out of it and see if that helps first.
