beach alone, or with friends but without adult supervision?

around 12, depending on their responsibility level and swimming ability. i live like 30 mins away from the beach and was allowed to go without adult supervision at 13.

I was first allowed out alone by the beach and on the beach when I was in 4th grade. So I was 8 or 9. I grew up in a small community though with no large city's nearby. I've only almost drowned in pools LOL.

maybe 12. but i'd be sure they were strong swimmers and always be in front of the lifeguard station
