Let's assume for the moment that global warming is a real threat, unnaturally created by mankind.... And that the polar ice caps hold the key to preventing a chain reaction....And that we can't just stop all greenhouse gas emissions from one day to another.
I have seen that a concept for a huge solar wind sail exists. What if we shoot up and unfold one of those into a geostationary orbit over the poles, to create just a little bit of "shade" over the ice caps.
Do you think that would help to stop the ice caps from shrinking?
