God, You made Satan. You've watched Satan since You created him. In fact, You knew what he was going to do before You made him. That means everything Satan has done is part of Your design for him, which makes You responsible for all his mischief. So why do You deny any responsibility for evil in the world when You knowingly created Evil Incarnate?
And God, while I have You on the line, what's with blaming humanity for those going to Hell? You wrote those rules. You created humanity with all its flaws? You knew before You made the universe that putting Adam, Eve, the Tree, and the Serpent in the same garden was going to lead to a lot of suffering for the rest of humanity? That makes -You- responsible for all that suffering. We don't put loaded pistols on coffee tables where little hands can get a hold of them, so what were You thinking when You put all of this together? That You'd get off blameless for the mess You've made?
The buck has to stop somewhere. Who will You pass it to.

I wonder how many other things I'd like to have a choice to believe or not: gravity, taxes, my good looks...
Does the fact I have no choice but to believe in these things mean I must be a robot?
Should I want a choice to ignore a force of nature as all-powerful as God? If I choose to ignore gravity, does that mean I fly or fall when I walk off a cliff?
Isn't it good that, in some areas of significance, we don't have a choice about believing?

An erudite answer, and I respect that.
But there is one problem. God is not just omniscient, He is omnipresent. Are you suggesting that there ia anywhere in the universe where we will not find God? What about in the heart of Evil Incarnate?
To suggest that anything or anywhere can experience an absence of God is to suggest God is limited, which is de facto impossible given the definition for God.
Good effort, tho'. I admire the effort to use logic.

I've never been very good at accepting 'my place'. If God is too high and mighty to answer a few questions, or chooses to take offense, then he's not God.
As for what I'll do: I'll Love, as I've always done. Love is more powerful than any God, for it is for Love that any God does what he/she does.
Love is the supreme power in our world.

As I said in a previous question, for God's prophecies in Revelations to come true, some of us must go to Hell. It's as much a part of God's plan as those who go to Heaven.
Whether God intends me to go to Hell or Heaven, which part of His plan I am to fulfill, is His secret.
But either way, I'm in the plan.

ooh, i know.
read isaiah 45:7 you may be surprised that God is not passing the buck as you say . . .
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
You will also find Exodus 9:16 very interesting. God is speaking to Pharoah thru Moses
And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared thoughout all the earth.
I think God has taken the blame for quite a bit, you just need to look at the Bible and find the truth.
Oh and according to the Bible the professor is correct. Darkness does exist and God takes the credit for making it.

well, first I must say you're nobody to judge God's actions. As you may well know, he's the almighty and he won't give account for what he does to anybody (he's the man!) ( read the book of Job in the bible). if he can does as he pleases, then he's guilty of nothing.
Second, he did not created evil. He did create free will or choice or whatever you want to call it, because he made us as an image of what he is. Satan, being the morning star( the most beautiful angel created) DECIDED to disobey God and now there's consequences.
God created us " with all our flaws" and weaknesses to show Satan that even the weakest creation made by Him is capable of following rules and live a God-like life just like the creator; with wisdom, love and peace of mind.
Hope I had solved your question

My friend it sounds like you are familiar with the Bible so I also think that you know the answers to your many questions. But remember your place " who has been Gods counselor" and does the pot say to the potter why have you made me like this" Romans 11:32 "For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all" Some people just need a little more mercy then others. I'll pray that you search out your own answers and learn more of the ways of God.

I think this answers your question.
Does evil exist?
The university professor challenged his students with this question. Did God create everything that exists? A student bravely replied, "Yes, he did!"
"God created everything? The professor asked.
"Yes sir", the student replied.
The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are then God is evil". The student became quiet before such an answer. The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question professor?"
"Of course", replied the professor.
The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold exist?"
"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?" The students snickered at the young man's question.
The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat."
The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"
The professor responded, "Of course it does."
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."
Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course as I have already said. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil."
To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love that exist just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."
The professor sat down.

Bobkgin, have you ever heard your child ranting that you are just not fair? Has s/he ever, in anger- raged at length at what you have said, the demands you have made?
One way to look at God is the parent/child model and in that model, it is acceptable to rage and scream "No fair" but the parent perspective is quite different from the child's perspective. If your child has ever said you were unfair or that s/he hated you (both of these are very normal statements in healthy typically developing children) then you may choose to explain yourself better or you may take the road of not explaining yourself either because your reasons for your actions are not something s/he would understand or because you don't want to pander to that level of disrespect, choosing instead to talk later when emotions settle down.
One really nice thing about the ranting, raging at God thing (if you are one who believes) is that you realize that you are loved unconditionally and that you have no reason to fear loss of love.

God didn't create Satan the evil one, He created Lucifer the beautiful one. Lucifer allowed pride to get the best of him and it cost him everything. Don't let that happen to you.
Sure there are rules, rules no one can follow. So God sent Jesus to bridge that gap.
Romans 10:10
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Believe and witness, and those other problems will pass away

Actually Tim, "cold" is not an absence of heat. Temperature in general is just a measure of the kinetic energy in an object, and the word "cold" is used to measure a low amount of kinetic energy, just as the term "darkness" is used to show a low amount of light. And you have not specified which god's absence creates evil: Yahweh, Jehovah, Allah, Vishnu, Zeus, Odin, etc.

Hey fine next time God makes earth he'll make sure you don't have a choice whether to believe in him or not. Would you like that? NO OF COURSE NOT. GOD CREATED SIN SO YOU WOULD HAVE A CHOICE IF NOT YOUD JUST BE A ROBOT WALKING AROUND NOT HAVING A CHOICE
FINE JUST BE A ROBOT ITS YOUR CHOICE OF COURSE TO HAVE NO CHOICE
GOD WILL NOT CHOOSE FOR YOU IF YOU CHOOSE TO GO TO HELL IT IS 100% YOUR CHOICE. YOU COULD CHOOSE RIGHT NOW UNLESS YOU DONT WANT TO.
NEXT TIME IF THERE WAS NO SIN THEN YOU WOULDNT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING. FINE BY ME JUST BE A PERSON WITH NO FEELINGS WHO CANT SIN

I don't think I would be so apt to question God as you do! Exactly we have no choice, it is the way it is! You can chose to do the good or the evil, with the latest question you ask, it is evident what you will do!

I'm not God, so I'm not sure if you want an answer from me, but I understand your questioning. I have had those same questions myself. I have often asked God WHY. Why all the suffering in the world? Why does He let it happen? Why does it go on and on? Why did my baby die and why did my dad die? I too have questions for God and He understands that we will have questions. When He created Adam and Eve, he wanted companionship from them. They had their own will and chose what to do. We also as a human race have our own wills and choose what we will do. The evil in this world comes from people choosing to do evil. People choose to hurt other people. I know, some things are still unexplainable and we're not supposed to know everything right now. We are just supposed to trust God. The devil made all this suffering on humanity, not God! God did not want us to suffer like this. He wanted us to run around naked (and not be ashamed or even know anything was wrong with it) and He wanted us to eat fruit and lay around and just talk to Him and be His companions.
The devil came in and ruined all that for the human race. He brought work and all this evil to us. So if you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the devil. God wanted us to live in the garden of Eden forever and be happy. God will make all this better one day. Yes, we have to suffer now. Death and abuse and war and evil are all around, but if you turn to God and ask His forgiveness, He will forgive you of your sins (we all sin) and you can live with Him forever in peace in Heaven, just like He had it planned from the beginning!
You know He sent His Son Jesus to die for you and you can be free of this evil world one day if you choose Him. We have to suffer for a little while, then it will all be better one day. You don't have to choose Hell. We've already been through Hell on earth. I choose God and Heaven! The blame should go to the devil. God never wanted the world to be like this. This is the work of the devil. He's the one to blame. He hates you and wants you to rot in hell with him. Don't be deceived.
It's ok to have questions!!! I do , too. But I choose to put my faith in God and try to do my best to serve Him, and I know one day, I will be with Him forever in Heaven, where there is no more death, pain, suffering, work, bills, sickness....... God bless you!!!
I guess God will not go where He is not invited or welcomed. If you don't want Him in your life or heart, He will not force Himself on you!!! He stands at your hearts door and knocks, but you have to open the door! He will not force Himself on you! You have to believe in Him and invite Him in your life. You don't have to be a robot and do anything you don't want to do. The Lord may be dealing with your heart and if you turn him away again and again, eventually He will stop coming to you. There's a lot of things we have a choice to believe in and accept, but believing in the Almighty God, the One, True God who created the world is the most important choice you will ever make. You have a choice as to whether you go to heaven or hell. It's not just already decided. YOU make the choice.
