Ok, this relates to an answer on another question (you remember the one by the girl that doesn't like homeschooling?)
Anyway, one answerer said he would have more faith in homeschooling when we have a president that has been homeschooled.
I gave a list (no peeking) but a lot of people do not go back in to re-read answers (ok, ok, there's nothing on TV, LOL)
So, can you do it? Can you give this guy a list of homeschooled presidents to help him understand that homeschooled kids grow up to do great things?
I see this as an open door to increase understanding, not to mention a chance to have a little fun and play a little trivial pursuit! :)

There were 9. .....

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Quincy Adams, William Henry Harrison, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The answerer you're referring to must not be a very intelligent person.....all I did was type "homeschooled presidents" into my search bar....

well, you know they're just going to argue that NO ONE was in the public schools then, because they didn't exist. How about a few more recent homeschoolers? Like Sandra Day O'Connor or Venus and Serena Williams.

EDIT: Alright, Tony, so these aren't presidents, but they are successful people who have homeschooled in the last 100 years (since the "invention" of public education).

For a longer list of famous homeschoolers, check out the website below (many are 'older' - before public education, but there are quite a few moderns). They also list the presidents:

*
John Quincy Adams
*
William Henry Harrison
*
Thomas Jefferson
*
Abraham Lincoln
*
James Madison
*
Franklin Delano Roosevelt
*
Theodore Roosevelt
*
John Tyler
*
George Washington
*
Woodrow Wilson

I have to do this off the top of my head? That's no fair! ;) I'm not even American! lol

We'll see how good my memory is for something I've looked at only a little:

Thomas Jefferson (his sister taught him at home), George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, both Roosevelts (tutored by someone else at home, but still not in a school setting surrounded by other kids each day), Madison... Shoot, there are others and I can't remember them. Do I get a good grade anyhow? Especially since I'm Canadian and have never studied American history? hehe

Venus Williams is my favorite president, by a landslide. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)
